My name is Peter Kirchem and I live in Cobham, Surrey - indeed I was born there. When time permits, I visit Cowes, on the Isle of Wight, where my girlfriend lives with her 2 children. She is a children’s book illustrator.

Photography has been a passion for as long as I can remember and so in 2006 I decided to take it one stage further, and started adayinourlife photography.

Since then I have enjoyed working in a wide variety of places, with commissions in France, Germany, Italy, the US and the Caribbean islands, ......not to mention locally in Cobham!

It is not a full-time occupation, as I also run a small engineering business, making specialised test equipment for the car industry

But photography gives free rein to an artistic streak in me, and as people seem to like my work, which is all a photographer can ask for, I am happy to juggle my 2 very different careers !

I am interested in a style of photography that attempts to capture the fluency of movement, especially in people. I am not so happy doing static studio poses, and am best when photographing people doing what people do best... being themselves.

My photos reflect a persons’ personality, their moods and character.
